Antique print, titled: 'Levi & Iuda.' - Depictions of Levi and Juda. This edition was printed around 1700, based on the watermark by the Publisher Nicolaes Visscher II (1649-1702). The set is usually published as "Groote Figuer-bijbel"or "Theatrum Biblicum". The Visscher family published these already antique plates from 1649 on. State: Second state of 2 Ref: Hollstein 67 Theatrum Biblicum. Engraving on Laid paper. Watermark: Coat of arms of Amsterdam with a lower beam. Made by 'Joannes Sadeler' after 'Crispyn van den Broecke'. Johannes Sadeler I (1550-ca. 1600) was a member of the engravers family Sadeler. The Sadeler family were the largest, and probably the most successful of the dynasties of Flemish engravers that were dominant in Northern European printmaking Crispyn van den Broecke (ca. 1524-ca. 1591) was a Flemish artist. Very good, given age. Large margins. Some foxing. Printer s crease in lower margin and 3 cm in print. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully. The overall size is ca. 37.6 x 31.5 cm. The image size is ca. 30.7 x 22.3 cm. The overall size is ca. 14.8 x 12.4 inch. The image size is ca. 12.1 x 8.8 inch.
