An absolutely beautiful thick children's book from the early 1930s comprising seven hundred pages of stories, poems and plays (chiefly stories) by A.A. Milne, Hugh Lofting, Arthur Ransome, Walter de La Mare, E. Nesbit, W. B. Yeats and many many others. Well over two hundred b&w illustrations. Colour frontis - The Laughing Dragon - by Ruth Gervis. Wonderful, unread condition, the book presents almost like new with very clean bright pages and solid textblock. No inscriptions or scribbles. The lovely dustwrapper is near fine, unclipped with 21/- price intact on inner flap and with the faintest of spotting an unfortunate light water stain along the spine. All in all, a real beauty!
