Add to basketA lovely 20 volume set in decorative binding of the works of Joseph Addison the 18th century essayist. Volumes are numbered on the spine 1-20. Please note volume 12 is from a different set but has been numbered correctly and is from the same year of publication but the binding is less decorative. all other volumes match. Please see photos as they form an important part of the description. Further images available on request. Volumes are as follows: Volume numbers 1-8 are Volumes 1-8 of the Spectator dated 1753. Volumes 9-12 are a 4 volume set of The Lubrications of Isaac Bickerstaff dated 1754 . Volumes 13 and 14 are Volumes 1 and 2 of the Guardian dated 1751. Volumes 15-17 are Volumes 1-3 of Miscellaneous Works in Verse and Prose dated 1753. Volume 18 is Volume 4 of Miscellaneous Works in Verse and Prose dated 1750. Volume 19 is The Freeholder dated 1751. This volume has a lovely manuscript note in praise of Addison which is signed "Addison" - perhaps a relative/descendant? I have not verified this. Volume 20 is Remarks on several parts of Italy dated 1753. Condition is good. Some scuffs and age related wear and tear to all volumes. Some partial splits near spines of some volumes but all boards firmly attached. Some age related staining but generally nice copies. Happy to provide more photos. Because of the bulk I may have to ask for a small additional payment to the standard postage but I shall keep this to an absolute minimum.
