Three volume set: Vol. I is dated 1805 on the title page, vols. II & III are dated 1806. Binding of all three volumes is worn, with a long split along the fold of the spine & back cover of volume I: there is also a large discoloured patch on the spine, presumably from it having been exposed to damp at some time. There is loss to the top of the spine of vol. II: the set really needs rebinding. All 3 vols have a 1914 ownership signature on their ffeps. There is intermittent pencil marking in the margins of all three volumes, most thickly clustered in "Grace Abounding" & "The Pilgrim's Progress": I have noticed one instance of ink annotation in the margin of vol.II, & there may , of course, be more which I have missed. Vols. I & II both have engraved frontispieces, & "The Pilgrim's Progress" is illustrated with 5 plates. There is a light damp stain in the top margin of much of volume I, not affecting the main area of text or the illustrated area of the plates, & some pages are heavily foxed. Seller Inventory # 697
