This 4.875 x 6.0 inch, 123 page hardcover book is the 1855 printing of this title as shown by that date on the title page, with a copyright of 1854 given on the copyright page. This copy is in good condition although it certainly shows considerable time wear. The original grey-brown cloth covers with stamped design on front and back panels and with gilt lettering and design on the spine show considerable rubbing and time wear - - with the corners and edges worn but the corners not generally worn through. The gilt on the spine has also been rubbed and diminished by time with the title barely legible. The interior text shows a previous owner's penciled name, some apparent staining to the front endpapers, a bit of foxing to the frontispiece and title page, and a touch of foxing scattered through the text pages. The binding is still fully firm and intact but does show time wear. The book features a hand colored frontispiece protected by tissue guard then the title page with no indication of authorship, and with two additional hand-colored full-page illustrations in the text - - with the color very vivid. The text presents ?The Wonderful Mirror? in 73 pages and then moves to ?The Fairy? - - a comedietta in two acts - - which runs through pages 75 through 114. The book concludes with another short nine-page section titled ?The Wonderful Mirror? and then sixteen pages of ads for books published and for sale by Crosby, Nichols & Company - - showing titles mostly from philosophy, religion, ethics, personal rights, etc. 123 pages.
