Book Description Rand McNally, USA, 1916. Hardcover. Book Condition: About Good. Dust Jacket Condition: No Dj. M T "Penny" Ross (illustrator). First Edition. Scarce, early book by Gordon ("Flower Children", "Bird Children", etc) that follows the story, in poetry form, of a very little girl seeking answers to questions about the world around her. Sensational color plates & b&w drawings by Ross, a noted artist/cartoonist who was one of the creators of "Buster Brown" & who moved to California in 1926 to be a set designer for RKO Studios. Covers are a bit edge-rubbed though the front cover illustration is rather bright, spine covering is quite chipped, signatures (sewn page gatherings) are a bit loosened; pages have finger soil & a few have small tears at the lower borders. Totally adorable! OUT OF PRINT. Bookseller Inventory # 9601
