Description:
Green publishers cloth with orange and blue paste down illustration on front cover with title of "The Wizard of Oz." The spine printed title of The Wizard of Oz with lions head in center, Baum below that and publisher Bobbs Merrill at base. The endpapers are unadorned from the publisher. Previous owner's name stamped on inside cover. plain paper endpapers. Additional name neaty in pen on FFEP. Front endpaper is still attached; rear endpaper has fully separated from from cover, only held to rear cover by backing material. 9 1/8" tall x 6 3/4" wide x 1 1/2". 208 pp with 8 full-color plates and other full-page black and white illustrations. An early printing of the 1903. Rear panel is in soiled and cloth is fraying at edges. Staining (less than 1/2" wide at most) to pages 77-208 along bottom half edge of each and every of these pages. A half dozen small 1/32" pits (from insects?) along bottom third of fore edge. A flawed copy that in my opinion would benefit from being rebound. As is, it is not in imminent danger of further degradation. Seller Inventory # 101281
