Title: Winchester Notes
Publisher: The Tuttle, Morehouse & Taylor Co., New Haven, CT
Publication Date: 1912
Book Condition: Very Good+
Edition: 1st Edition.
Hardcover, issued without a dustjacket, this is the original edition with the quality binding and illustrations that one should expect, one significant flaw to this otherwise beautiful copy: a large damp-mark on the back cover, it has not penetrated into the book and has not caused any damage other than mild discoloration to the burgundy-colored cloth, this copy would be rated our highest grade of "Fine" were it not for this flaw, the binding is tight and square, the gold titles are bright as new, very clean, and the contents are pristine, features numerous illustrations with the original protective tissue-guards and original floral-decorated end-papers, 367 pages, quite a treasure, "This work was undertaken entirely for private circulation, and in collecting and compiling the following Winchester Notes my motive has been solely the desire to give to the great-grandchildren of Edmund Winchester, Sr. And their descendants, some knowledge of their ancestors in this country, his lineage and theirs, also to preserve for them many facts regarding our family of to-day, with its numerous connecting links, known to me, but which would probably be lost to them after my death".
