Originally published 1896 by Routledge, this is the 1930 hardcover reprint in red paper covered boards showing bumped spine ends and fairly sharp tips. Stapled page block slightly stretched/pulled at foot but holding fine, no loose leaves. Pg 28 has a roughed up, slightly curled edge due to sticking out a smidge more than the rest of the page block. Other than that, the pages are browned but not brittle. Pages are soft and bendable. Original, color illustrated dust wrapper has small chips at tips, discolored white-background rear panel. A wild & raucous tale of horses, horse racing, and the personalities one may find on the fringes and in the dead center of the action. Seller Inventory # 48761
