Gilt stamped purple cloth is fine in a very good + Dust Jacket with a shallow chip at the top of the spine with no loss of printing and a brief stain on the back panel of this wrap-around jacket which captures the stealth and cunning of the wild animals which inhabit the book. Somewhat oddly placed in the Southern California mountains, Faust chose to wirte his "Dog Story" in the area he knew well.the Mountains bordering the central valley of california where he grew up as a young man and worked in the fields of Fresno and schooled a short time at the University at Berkeley.
