Signed by the author with dedication to Sir Godfrey Thomas to front free endpaper. Black and white photographic plates throughout. Signed page stuck in and repaired with large area missing to top and stuck onto previous page. Page is scuffed with glue remnants, tearing and creasing. Slight cracking to hinges, with exposed netting, pages remain attached. Pages and plates have light tanning and foxing throughout. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Slight crushing to spine ends. Visible markings overall. Book has a slight forward lean. Montague Grahame-White (1877-1961) was a racing car driver, as well as a broker of cars, yachts and aeroplanes. He compiled this collection of reminiscences spanning four decades, featuring a number of forgotten and important figures in the worlds of locomotion and aviation. His brother was Claude Grahame-White, renowned pioneer of flight who made the first night flight.Undated, dated from Library Hub. In the publisher's original binding.Profusely illustrated with full plate illustrations and photographs, as well as a full frontispiece of the author. With lovely endpapers decorated with the blue crests of the Royal Automobile Club and the Royal Albert Yacht Club. In a full cloth binding. Externally very smart, some rubbing to the extremities and joints and minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Contains an ownership bookplate of an R.
