Extremities worn, including corners and head and tail of spine and board lower corners damp stained. Hinges starting to crack and a little foxing of preliminaries, but otherwise a very good copy. Binder's label of W. Bone and Son 76 Fleet St. London E.C. Illustrated by 10 chromolithograph plates, protected by paper guards, including frontispiece, by additional illuminated title and by numerous engraved text figures. A social history of women from Celtic and Roman times into the seventeenth century, with an emphasis on the feudal period. By Thomas Wright (1810-77), antiquarian and editor of medieval texts.
