Oblong 8vo. (8 x 5") 48p. Profusely (!) illustrated with black and white captioned photos and many, many black and white drawings. Order Blank and Index. Stapled booklet in green wrappers decorated in black with vignettes of flying ducks and geese and with a silver label label printed in green in a black rectangle on the front wrapper that has the title, the publisher and the typed name of the owner of this booklet: Mr. James Vermoch. Very minor wear to extremities, wrappers lightly soiled, silver label more or less intact, corners square and flat, no rust on the staples, else very good to near fine with no internal markings. Date taken from the contents which reference a change in prices effective January 1, 1941 and from the Order Blank which has 1941 after the blank for the order date. Testimonial letters are dated from 1926 to 1939 (the latest). This edition published by The Wisconsin Aquatic Nurseries and is not the later edition published by the Game Food Nurseries in the 1940s and 1950s. I have not been able to find much information about The Wisconsin Aquatic Nurseries and cannot say whether it was the forerunner of the later Game Food Nurseries or the Wildlife Nurseries. In any case, this booklet is chock full of information about the use of plants to enhance habitat for fish, fowl and other game, including muskrats. All these plants were offered for sale and prices are included. A most unusual piece of ephemera related to natural game habitat. Seller Inventory # 008052
