Good hardback with jacket, light compression to spine ends, speckling to back board, no inscriptions, foxing (mainly to end-papers and edges), abrasion to rear paste-down. Jacket is rubbed, foxed, and chipped with small holes to back cover. 206 pages. The Earl of Cardigan was taken prisoner before the Dunkirk evacuation, escaped and made his way through France via the Pyrenees into Spain, then to Gibraltar and England.
