Stuck was born in London, England in 1863 and died in 1920. He was an American missionary and explorer, who emigrated to the United States in 1885, graduated from the University of the South (1892), and was dean (18941904) of the Episcopal cathedral at Dallas, Texas. In 1905 he became archdeacon of the Yukon and spent the remainder of his life in Alaska. With three companions he accomplished the first ascent (1913) of Mt.
