Published between 1648 and 1653, this fine example of 17th century French comic literature was a major influence on the burlesque writers of Italy, France and England. Contemporary leather binding with raised bands and gilt lettering. 8 engravings and ornaments to pages. Board and flyleaf of Volume II loose, modest foxing and browning to pages, otherwise both volumes in very good condition. 2 vols volumes.
