Two volume set. Rebound (re-covered) by library at two different times. While both are brown cloth over board, the cover of Vol. I was replaced at a much earlier point in time, is more faded and rubbed than the other volume and was cut larger. Vol. 1 - 556pp, maps and illus. Binding is tight; covers are worn and rubbed extensively about edges and spine. Some light foxing, but otherwise contents are quite good. Map in rear pocket is tape repaired by prev. owner. Library sticker on front paste down, 2 library stamps and pocket in rear. Vol. 2: 508pp, maps and illus. Library sticker on front paste down, 2 library stamps and card pocket in rear. In rebinding, the rear map pocket and map were lost. Contents are lightly foxed, but binding is strong and tight, minimal wear. Professional rebinding could make this a very attractive matched set of a wondrous, historic voyage.(Loc 1034/1).
