Newton was an American author and book collector. This one-page letter is on stationery with Newton's name and address printed in the upper-left corner. 8 ½ in. x 11. It is dated April 3rd, 1925 and reads: "Dear Mr. Hatch: Thank you kindly for the very beautiful photograph you have sent me. I wonder whether you are familiar with Cameron's etchings. An etching of his about the size of your photograph might sell anywhere from one to three thousand dollars, according to the subject. Your photograph is not unlike an etching by Cameron.
