The TUXEDO Transaction Processing System is a flexible software product that provides applications designers and programmers with a field tested framework for building UNIX System V-based On-Line Transaction Processing (OLTP) applications in a distributed networked computing environment. The TUXEDO System/T architecture is that of an enhanced client server model with additional capabilities that support networking of heterogeneous machines, distributed transaction processing, data dependent routing, and interfaces for administration of an OLTP application. The volumes in this series cover Release 4.1 of the TUXEDO Transaction Processing System and should be of interest to programmers, developers and administrators. This "Application Development Guide" is designed as a prerequisite for the other more detailed TUXEDO System Guides. It is intended to acquaint new users with the TUXEDO System, introduce new terminology, and describe the TUXEDO System application development process from beginning to end.
