Not public library copy; back front coverboard has sticker stating library of W.M Lewis, Clifton, Texas Purchased April 21, 1909. This is a two volume set; Volume 1 is the Hebrew Trial; Volume 2 is the Roman Trial. Spine and corners are covered with looks like dark red leather; rest of boards are gold and red marble; cover boards and fly pages the same. The top 1" of spines are completly gone; also small parts of bottom spines, and small part of the spine at top fold of Vol.2. Cover board edges have wear all around, including corners. The gold on top page edges is flaking off; front and bottom page edges are yellowing with age; bottom page edges at corners has some flatting shelf marks. In volume 1, preface pages xvi & xvii were glued together at a spot on bottom and when pulled apart, a small part of page xvii tore loose and stayed stuck to page xvi. Volume 2 has a crack between front and back cover boards and front fly pages. I do not find any markings in text. Pretty good 100 year old books. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
