In French. Not ex-lib., with small bookplate of Paul Joseph Sachs (Fogg/Harvard Museum director and Goldman Sachs partner) to front pastedown. Possibly a former softcover, now bound in card boards with brown quarter-binding. No date indicated within, given date of 1886 is from online search (Getty Research Institute archive sponsor). 100pp. + contents. B/W plates on paper (one figure within textblock). Fair to Good. Title page is excised, now laid in, blank lower 1" torn and missing, all title page information present (as per Getty scan; see seller's scan). Moderate uniform toning to unmarked pages; foxing to upper margin of title page and occasionally to upper and upper outer margins throughout, all away from text and figures. Boards are scuffed with patch of surface scraping mid front near binding edge; corners bumped with loss, rubbing and surface loss along hinges and spine end. Seller Inventory # 029639
