Octavo, green cloth lettered in gilt; top edge gilt; slightly soiled. First edition, with 16 collotype plates. One of 225 copies printed on Van Gelder paper --- Samuel Waldron Lambert's copy, with his bookplate, which was engraved by the noted engraver Edwin Davis French (1851 1906), on the front pastedown. Lambert (1859-1942), the erstwhile Dean of the College of Physicians and Surgeon, Columbia University, and professor of Clinical Medicine, authored "Hospitals and medical education."
