The jacket is now protected with a removable Mylar cover. The hardcover book is in good minus condition free from rips, tears, bends, and stains. There is some writing in blue ink on the front free end page. The boards are in good minus condition with edge wear. The binding is tight and square. James Mallahan Cain was an American novelist, journalist and screenwriter. He is widely regarded as a progenitor of the hardboiled school of American crime fiction.
