About this Item

Oversized Black cloth with brown backstrip and black lettering. Light bump to head and heel of spine, tips of corners slightly rubbed. Light discoloration to endpapers due to aging binding glue. Text is otherwise clean and bright, no marks. Profusely illustrated with over 100 black and white photographs. Unclipped DJ with $7.95 price shows rubbing to all edges, small creases and tiny chips, minor general scuffing. "In 1900, a handful of Southern California blades who owned horseless carriages - "rich man's toys" - got together to swap stories about their adventures on and off the road. They compared headlights and goggles, spoke of races and rallies, and joked about zooming past nervous drayhorses at breakneck speeds. That was the start of the Automobile Club of Southern California." (from the jacket). Bookseller Inventory # C50815
