The text block and illustrations are in fine condition with no tears, dog-ears, or marks. There is no bookplate but the signature of a prior owner is written on the first free endpaper. This is not a library book nor a remainder. The white wraps are in very good condition (crease in lower righthand corner of front cover). 10 ¾ x 8 ¼, 108 pages, 20 ounces XX Fort Richardson is located in Jack County, Texas, adjacent to the western boundaries of the county seat, Jacksboro and immediately west of U.S. Highway 281 between Jacksboro and Fort Worth. The post was established 26 November 1867 as a northern base of operations for the second chain of forts and continued in this capacity throughout the following decade. It experienced a decline as a military installation following the close of Indian hostilities in 1878. The fort was abandoned 23 May 1878. Seller Inventory # 002459
