About this title

Shakespeare's writings, with their profound understanding of human experience, continue to enlighten us nearly four centuries after their publication. In his latest book, Shakespeare maven Scott Kaiser explores the eternal wisdom of the Bard through 180 meditative passages inspired by quotations drawn from the canon. Each passage in this collection offers an opportunity to reflect upon the challenges of modern life, guided by the words of William Shakespeare and deepened by the teachings of the ancient spiritual masters-Lao-Tzu, Chuang-Tzu, and the Buddha.

About the Author:

Scott Kaiser is the Director of Company Development at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, where he has been a member of the artistic staff since 1993. While at OSF, Scott has directed, adapted, coached, or performed in all 38 of Shakespeare’s plays. He is the author of two previous books: Shakespeare’s Wordcraft, and Mastering Shakespeare: An Acting Class in Seven Scenes. Both books are being used in university classrooms and theatre conservatories across the country. He has also penned three plays: Splittin' the Raft, Now This, and most recently, Love's Labor’s Won—a sequel to Shakespeare's Love's Labor's Lost. You’ll find Scott’s website online at:
