Synopsis: Tales of Days Gone By is a selection of 17 stories from Konjaku Monogatari-shu, a 12th century collection of more than 1000 tales.The stories in this selection are divided into three categories: tales of women, tales of wonder, and tales of Buddhism. They were chosen and visualized in dynamic woodcuts by Naoko Matsubara.

About the Author: Naoko Matsubara has had over sixty exhibitions on three continents.Her work is in major public collections including the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, British Museum, Cincinnati Art Museum, Royal Ontario Museum, Smithsonian Institution, Tokyo National Museum of Modern Art, and the White House.She lives in Canada.Charles De Wolf was educated in the United States, Europe, and East Asia.A professor of linguistics at Keio University, he is engaged in the study of historical linguistics and classical Japanese literature.He lives in Japan.
