Synopsis: Colorful illustrations and a lively story bring Okinawa to life in this one of a kind children's book set in Okinawa, Japan. The story unfolds around a mischievous shisa (lion-dog) named Takako and follows her on a day of gateball, Eisa dancing, banyan tree climbing and Okinawan adventure! When a great typhoon suddenly approaches, she races through their village on a mission to save her brother and their home.

About the Author: Kelly Garcia lived in Yomitan, in Okinawa, Japan from 2005-2009. During her time in Okinawa she taught English as a Foreign Language, worked as a picture framer, ate her way around the island as food editor of the website Okinawa Hai. Kelly recently relocated to Hampton Roads, Virginia. She has two children, Gabe and Lily. This is her first book.
