Report from the Committee Appointed to inspect the Journals of the House of Lords, in relation to their Proceedings upon the Impeachment of Henry Viscount Melville. 24th June, 1806. {5}. A Report from the Committee Appointed to draw up Articles of Impeachment against Henry Viscount Melville. 4th March, 1806. {6}. Accounts, Presented to the House of Commons, of the Names of the Parties into whose Names The Navy, Victualling, and Transport Bills, Funded in the years 1794, 1795, and 1796, Were Respectively Written Up at the Bank of England. 11th June, 1805. Also bound in to the text is an advertisement, dated October 1, 1806, for the published Memoirs of Capt Sir T.M. Hardy. Single leaf printed both sides. Rebacked in original style using original boards. Spine in compartments with raised bands and contrasting title label, gilt. A very good copy indeed. Henry Dundas, 1st Viscount Melville, at the time First Lord of the Admiralty, was the last man to be impeached in the United Kingdom. He was tried, and subsequently acquitted, on charges of Misappropriation of Public Funds. The text includes the names and verdicts of all the members of the House of Lords, with the names and functions of all those who had a part in the proceedings.
