Small octavo, olive green cloth boards with three-quarter bound/leather effect spine, corners, and title cartouche to front; black titles to same, gilt titling and decoration to spine panel. With genaral rubbing and wear to exremities, a few white stains to rear panel. Spine details still relatively clear and bright gilt. eps with overall leaf pattern, front hinge starting to split, rear hinge holding with binding material only. Beautifully written ink inscription to ffep, dated 'Midsummer 1890'. Half-Title and frontis. photographic portrait of author loosening, showing binding.Introduction has some light pencilled marks in text. Contents: xviii + Illustration Details + Full Page Map + 320pp + 4pp details of other volumes in the Minerva Library. rfep has £4-15/- in pencil. Main body of the text securely bound but age-worn and a little grubby in places. Full-page illustrations and Map all present.' Vacation Tours' includes ' A visit to North Spain at the time of the Eclipse of 1860', with four figures depicting the Sun's Corona in the text.
