About this Item

VG in contemporary leather, TGS. Early prior owner's mark on FEP. Front board 1/3 split from spine but still very much attached. Clara F. Cutbush: Philadelphia 1825 TP+xlii+612+1Pl+ii. 23cms. J.B. Barkley in Pyrotechnica no.5 (Oct.1979) says:- 'This voluminous treasure discusses every aspect of pyrotechny, both civilian and military, known to the author at the time. Cutbush obviously consulted every contemporary book and journal, domestic and foreign, dealing with pyrotechny to prepare such an exhaustive and scholarly work; every little detail was set down. The book is a landmark, not only in the general history of pyrotechny, but especially as the first major American contribution to the literature of fireworks.' A System of Pyrotechny was published posthumously by his wife, Clara. References: Brock. Du Pont. CP. Rink 2158, Philip C120.1. Bookseller Inventory # ABE-3454620787

Shipping Terms:

Orders usually ship within 2 business days. Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 LB, or 1 KG. This is a function of the ABE program rather than a reflection of our real shipping costs. Most of our more popular books weigh more than this (e.g. Pyrotechnica Publications items). If your book order is heavy or oversized, we WILL contact you to let you know extra shipping is required. Overseas shipments cannot be shipped via surface mail (the 21-36 business days option listed in the ABE shopping cart) because there is no longer a surface mail option from the United States. So, please do not select this option if you are outside of the USA. Only insured air mail is available for these overseas orders.
