Contemporary calf. 8vo. iv, 384pp. Volume Two only. The author was a Scottish physician and scientist known for his lectures on natural philosophy and other subjects and his textbooks. This volume has sections on the preparation of simple medicines, infusions, syrups and honeys, tinctures, powders, ointments, mineral waters and more. This American edition contains notes by Nathaniel Chapman. A very good copy with some scuffing and wear to the binding and some chipping to the lower spine. The text is very good with light wear.
