ADAMUCCI, A. Systéme mécanique des fonctions nerveuses. Paris: L. Collin, 1808. # 2 vols. in one. FIRST EDITION. 8 vo. Contemp. half sheep with marbled boards. (4), xvi, 323, (1, blank); (4), 329, (1, blank) pp. A fine copy. Garrison in his 'History of neurology' (1969, p.200) cites this work as one of the separate monographs which appeared in the first half of the nineteenth century "that summarized to one extent or another the status of neurophysiology for this period." Adamucci was on the medical and surgical faculty at the College of Naples. The first volume is largely given over to chapters on the sensations, while the second volume mainly treats attention. Apart from the listing of this book in the Blocker Collection (p.3) and in Dawson Cat.91 (no.77), it is lacking from the other medical collections and bibliographies. Bookseller Inventory # 000603
