One of Leslie Silko [aka Leslie Marmon Silko] earliest published stories, "A Geronimo Story" set in the 1880s, centers on the Laguna Regulars unsuccessful search for the Apache Chief, which search included several of her ancestors and is here published prior to the publication of her debut book (Laguna Women: Poems - Greenfield Review Press, 1974).
