Solid exlib 3rd printing reading copy hardcover in age-toned and moderately soiled white background illustrated paper covered boards with black title on cover and backstrip and nice full color drawing of a cowboy on a grey horse encircled by english bridles and crops. Tips and spine ends bumped and rubbed. 190 pp text is browning but not brittle. pocket pulled but all pages present. Describes, in first person, exactly what early Montana ranch life was like. Coburn tells about his first cattle roundup (he was only 14 years old),; the madcap horse-and-buggy race he and his father participated in when Coburn was a kid; an Indian burial rite he witnessed, how cowboys treated each other and much more.
