Bibliographic Details

Title: Stallions (Thoroughbreds) in South Africa. ...

Publisher: Author, Johannesburg

Publication Date: 1945

Binding: Hardcover

Book Condition: Good

Edition: 1st Edition

Description:

"Nearly 200 tabulated pedigrees with notes. The notes are on racing form, breeding and progeny of the stallions and their forebears for the last three removes. The introductory chapters give relative valuations of South African, British and French sires, based on the winnings of their progeny." 2 pp of photographs + 272 pp of text, tables and index, all on art paper. The original beige cloth-boards, black lettered to the upper panel and spine, are unrubbed and very good despite a small stain to the back. The binding has cracked at both endpapers and is now loose, though still attached. This remains a good clean copy with no other defects. Bookseller Inventory # 000028
