This is a SIGNED and inscribed First Edition/First Printing of the legendary Hollywood director and screenwriter Richard Brook's scarce second novel, Splinters. The author's inscription, dated 8/1/41, reads "Well Andy -- It's a hunk of life between you and me. Thanks. Richard". The remainder of the book's interior is completely clean and unmarked. The book's covers, which look like wood, have about three pale spots, all less than 1/4". The red square on the front cover, in which the title of the book and the author's name appear, is lightly soiled, or perhaps just darkened from exposure sunlight. The book's spine is spotless. None of the corners are bumped but two corners show a little bit of rub wear. The dust jacket is not clipped but has many shallow chips along the edges, the deepest of which is about 2/3". It is very clean but has darkened a little from sun exposure on the spine and along the edges of the front and back panels. A very collectible book, we will bubble-wrap it, ship it in a sturdy box, and fully insure it. Bookseller Inventory # ABH174
