About this title

Synopsis:

This collection of sermons, Facebook posts, and other musings were written by Rabbi Michael Adam Latz immediately following the 2016 election. As a rabbi, a man of faith, and a moral activist, his commitment to human dignity is found at the intersection of ancient Jewish text and the faces and hearts of people he encounters. His words express the belief that it is our task, no matter our beliefs, to be co-creators of a world that overflows with love, dignity, equality, and justice. The words in "Spiritual Resistance" are offered with the fervent hope that together, we can remake the world!

About the Author:

Rabbi Michael Adam Latz is a husband, dad, rabbi, activist, and spiritual leader. Senior Rabbi of Shir Tikvah in Minneapolis, MN since July 2009, Michael is actively engaged in moral justice work: from gun violence prevention to marriage equality, to immigration rights and racial justice, his work focuses on the spiritual power of human dignity and how we build a community that honors every person’s story. Most recently, he helped organize the American religious community to observe a fast on the day of Donald Trump’s inauguration. Rabbi Latz was ordained from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York in 2000. He serves as a member of the Central Conference of American Rabbis, a board member of Truah: The Rabbinic Call for Justice, the Executive Leadership Team of Rabbis Against Gun Violence, and on Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges’ Transition Team.
