Folio. Unpaginated. 88 plates each with descriptive text on facing pages. Bound in three-quarter leather with gilt ruling on covers, gilt lettering and ruling on spines. Decorative endpapers. Title page with University emblem. Monthly parts of eight plates with descriptions bound into two volumes with 11 parts of eight plates each, distributed by the South Kensington Museum, originally in stout wrappers. The series includes representations of decorative art of all countries and all times, from objects in the South Kensington Museum for the following classes: Sculpture, Bronzes, Decorative Painting, Decorative Furniture and Carved Woodwork, Carved Ivory work and Bone, Ecclesiastical Metalwork, Gold and Silversmith's work, Jewellery and Bijouterie, Decorative Metalwork, Enamels: Oriental and Limoges, Pottery of All Countries, Glass: Oriental, Venetian, and German, Decorative Bookbinding, Textile Fabrics: Embroidery and Lace, Decorative Clocks and Watches, Ornamental Cutlery, Original Designs for works of decorative art. The plates are carefully printed with a Japanese tint on thick plate paper, atlas 8vo. light wear along edges of binding, small chips and scuffing on spines. Light offsetting from leather to decorative endpapers along edges. Light sporadic foxing not affecting images. Binding in overall good+, interior in very good condition. Seller Inventory # 44256
