About this seller
The Société des Bollandistes was founded by jesuit Jean Bolland in 1630 in order to publish the "Acta Sanctorum", the ancient Lives of the Saints. Established in Brussels since 1837, it is dedicated to the study of critical hagiography. It publishes a journal and two series of books. The books sold on Abebooks are duplicates from its unique library, rich of some 500,000 volumes. It includes volumes on hagiography, patristics, history, the arts, as well as ancient (pre-1800) and rare books and periodicals.
