About this Item

An invaluable work documenting the Revolutionary years by one of the many young British philhellenists who lent his sword to the cause between 1821 and 1833. Described in William Miller's 1930 census of works on modern Greece as "very rare." with the ownership signatures of William Fletcher (19th C) to endpapers, and the neat ownership stamps of C. W. Taylor to title page. Original Victorian binding half-leather with raised headbands and gilt stamping, now somewhat worn. A very good set. Bookseller Inventory # 15241
