Title: Sinking of the Titanic: World's Greatest Sea...
Publisher: [Chicago: ] L. H. Walter, 1912
Publication Date: 1912
Edition: First Edition.
SALEMEN'S COPY, used by agents of the publisher to sell copies of the book to subscribers. Produced in very small numbers, this is an abridged version of the final book, slimmer, and with fewer pages. Of wonderful significance: this is one of the first copies of one of the first books issued after the Titanic went down. As with similar books produced after national disasters, a portion of the proceeds from sales of the volume were earmarked for the support of the the survivors. Profusely illustrated. Some childish scrawing to the endpapers, and some wear to covers, but less than usual for this book, which is usually found in poor condition. Binding a bit shaken: a very good copy of a historic volume. Bookseller Inventory # 13098
