About this Item
Red cloth with black lettering, border and cover vignette. Covers show considerable wear, angry stain at lower edge of front board, edges rubbed, fray to head and heel of spine, corners bumped, odd and uneven spotting, spine sunned. Closed outside edges show uneven discoloration and soil. Text is overall clean and bright, but does show some thumb smudging and light foxing. Previous owner signature to front endpaper. "Sinister Street has indeed interested us profoundly, as the intimate study of the infancy and boyhood of a singularly attractive lad. Its picture of West Kensington life, and its attempt to describe the atmosphere of the Public School which dominates the social life of West Kensington are really remarkable." (so raved the Morning Post in their 1919 review). Seller Inventory # D70213
