Printed for Mathew Carey, Philadelphia, August, 4,1794, 261 pp plus publisher s list, full original leather, 8.25 x 5.5 , 8vo. In fair condition. Joints are cracked with both front and rear boards loosening. Fragile boards with moderate wear and heavy rubbing along extremities with corners. Numerous abrasions to surface of leather. Spines desiccated with loss of morocco spine label and segments of calf. Double ruled bands. Ends crushed with minor loss. Binding prone to flaking. Old hand ownership of Isaac Hansen on front fly. Evidence of a fleur-de-lys at top edge of second fly indicating that this was printed on imported French paper! Old hand ownership of Myron Healley on title along with two Y s or 4 s in old hand ink on the rear of the front fly. Internally good with light toning and minor instances of foxing. Some pockets of heavier foxing throughout. Binding fragile. Free of known marginalia. Please see photos. First American edition.
