About this Item

Hard Cover. Near Fine/No Jacket. Beige boards with reproductions of a William Blake painting in color on front and back; brown lettering on spine. Printed on deckle-edged laid paper. Spine starting, spine ends a bit rubbed, boards somewhat soiled, with a gray smudge to bottom of front cover, a few smudged pages, but otherwise a clean, sound copy with no p/o marks. An "anthropological" study by a professor from the University of Florence (translated from the Italian by James Bruce), that covers sexual practices throughout the world. Includes chapters on puberty, perversions, mutilation, incest, prostitution; and a chapter on natural birth-control methods that was deleted from later editions. Undated, but believed to be the 1932 (first American) edition or possibly a reprint thereof. 272 pages. Bookseller Inventory # 000428
