A collection of the public and private correspondence of Vice Admiral Cuthbert Collingwood, an admiral of the Royal Navy, notable as a partner with Lord Nelson in several of the British victories of the Napoleonic Wars, and frequently as Nelson's successor in commands. With a memoir of his life written by G. L. Newnham Collingwood, a British author. In the original half calf with marbled boards. Externally, sound with light rubbing to the extremities and the odd small mark to the boards. Light fading to the spine with cracks to the joints. Minor loss to the spine labels. Hinges tender to volume one and starting but firm to volume two. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot and light age toning to the endpapers. Good.
