About this Item
Although it can be read as a stand alone novel, this is the seventh of the eight books in The Young Trailers series. First published in 1911, this is the nineteenth printing from 1928. The uncredited frontispiece illustration is signed by the artist, muralist and magazine illustrator, Denman Fink. Joseph A. Altsheler (1862-1919) was a newspaper man and prolific writer of historical fiction for children. This copy, in brown cloth with yellow lettering and yellow & black illustration on front board, is a very good, pretty clean copy. The free front endpaper has been neatly removed, there's a name on the front pastedown and some pencil notes on rear endpaper, and the edges are browned. The covers are a little rubbed with slight wear at spine ends and lower corners. A fairly decent copy of an uncommon book. Seller Inventory # 002032
