While this book is structurally intact, it is fragile. The leather boards are very rubbed. Spine - also very rubbed with raised bands and very worn at head and tail. Rectangular double-lined decorative border in gilt is just about visible on both boards. Inscriptions on ffep; one of which may be early 18th century. See photos for evidence of some of these phenomena - though taking further photos not possible due to book's fragility. NB. Complete with all 25 engravings. Open tears on pages 237/8 and 239/40; neither affecting text. The title page reads: 'Translated into English Verse by Mr Dryden' and 'Several other Eminent Hands' and 'The fifth addition, adorned with sculptures' - 'printed for J Tonson etc.' pp.296/18mo.
