Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good
Edition: 1st Edition
Gorgeous About-Fine first printing of this amazing collection of writings -- some somewhat serious, others predominantly playful -- by Duchamp, one of the great figures of 20th-century art. Published five years after his death, it includes numerous photographs, reproductions, drawings, diagrams, as well as writings about his most famous works, the state of art in the 20th century, and many other topics. The book has a small sticker scar on the upper left corner of the first endpage, but is otherwise absolutely clean inside and out. None of the corners are bumped and there is no visible rub wear along the edges. The gilt design on the cover is bright and has not chipped. There is very slight sun fade along the upper edges and very slight dust soiling in that region only. Dust jacket is not price-clipped and has no chips or tears. The white portions have tanned a wee bit and there is just a hint of soiling. On the back panel, there is a one half-inch blue ink smudge. This book has become quite scarce and would make an amazing gift for any fan of modern art. Bookseller Inventory # ABH206
