4 1/4 in. x 6 3/4 in., [1]-224 pp., with an engraved, classical frontispiece with a bust of von Kleist, after Samuel Hieronymus Grimm (1733-94), engraved by Johann-Rudolph Holzhalb (1723-1806), and four other fine, classical engravings before each work; fine, wood-engraved head & tail-pieces, initial letters, typographic borders around the text. Text is in German and Italian. Spine and sides and corner-pieces are old calf, with five raised bands on the spine, and brown & black morocco leather title labels, gilt-lettered: KLEISTS SHRIFTE / TOM. II., with gilt borders across the spine, and parallel, blindstamped ruling to the sides, with black speckled, paste-paper-covered boards, dark blue sprinkled edges. Cover corners, edges show some wear, rubbing to spine; tanning to endpapers, light tanning to page and plate margins. Finely printed volume, which was part of a larger set.
